Philosophical Aspects of Origin (Polish title: Filozoficzne Aspekty Genezy) (ISSN 2299-0356) is a highly specialised online philosophical journal. In 2022, the journal became a biannual. Its principal focus is examining the concept of origin in its broad sense: i.e., the origins of the Universe, of early and advanced life forms, humans, psyche, consciousness, language, scientific theories, religion, etc. The contents of the journal also include reflections of a philosophical and methodological nature that concern theories and perspectives relevant to this topic. Remuneration for authors

Philosophical Aspects of Origin stands out amongst Polish journals, due to the fact that it offers remuneration to the authors of texts accepted for publication. In the case of original articles, the maximum remuneration (prior to any deductions for tax, etc.) is 2500 PLN; in the case of reviews, it is 500 PLN (also gross). Proposals for reviews should be consulted with the editors in advance (by contacting us at: info@fag.ifil.uz.zgora.pl). In his article “Romantic Platonism, Teleology, and the Problem of Origins,” Mateusz Stróżyński argues that we are witnessing the emergence of a new paradigm in philosophy, which he calls “romantic Platonism.”  In the first part of his paper, the author describes the historical roots and current shape of the emerging paradigm. In the second part, based on Thomas Nagel’s thesis that a new paradigm must emerge that is teleological in nature and encompasses an objective moral order of the universe, the author argues that one of the fundamental problems of the dialogue between romantic Platonic metaphysics and the natural sciences will be the question of origins.
